Author: Nicolas Scrutton Alvarado

Nicolas is a PhD candidate studying molecular neurobiology at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. His current research focuses on understanding how 3D genome organization influences cerebellar development in mammals. Nicolas previously has worked on numerous science communication initiatives in science writing and public outreach. He is a current co-host of the In The Spotlight science podcast and a founder of Mentally Minded, the mental health community initiative. When he’s not writing about science, Nicolas can be found nose-deep in a new book, cooking a confusing recipe, or rock climbing with friends.
