Haley is a PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests lie at the intersection of social and behavioral neuroscience. Her research experiences include studying children’s word learning and the development of pair bonding and social behaviors in socially monogamous species. Throughout her career, she hopes to continue investigating social behavior, with a particular focus on parental care behaviors and parent-offspring relationships. She is especially interested in understanding the neural and molecular mechanisms underlying these behaviors, and how this knowledge might contribute to our understanding of conditions that affect social functioning.
Outside of the lab, Haley enjoys reading, creative writing, hiking, and spending time with her dog, Nova. An avid music enthusiast, she can often be found with her headphones on, listening to some of her favorite bands like The Strokes and Geese.
