Lindsey Ramirez

Lindsey is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois-Chicago. She studies aversion in alcohol use disorder. While having an aversion to alcohol can be protective against drinking, sometimes that protection is lost. She investigates which areas of the brain play a role in signaling aversion and under what conditions this signaling fails.

Lindsey wants to make science accessible and appealing for everyone so she often engages in scientific communication through her department, her university’s postdoc association, and ComSciCon’s Chicago chapter.

Outside of the lab, she enjoys true crime, Zumba, and finding a good bargain at garage sales and local thrift stores.
