Michelle (she/they) founded cogbites, manages the site, and edits all guests posts. She is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (funded by the National Science Foundation) in the Metacognition, Memory, and Aging Lab at Texas Christian University. Michelle’s research applies theories of learning and memory to enhance educational practice. She is particularly interested in how learners understand and manage their own learning. She completed her graduate studies at Kent State University and her undergraduate studies at UC Santa Cruz.
Michelle is passionate about science communication and outreach. She serves as Digital Associate Editor for the Psychonomic Society Featured Content Blog and is an Early-Career Representative for Division 3 of the American Psychological Association. When she’s not doing research, Michelle enjoys making music, traveling, and connecting with nature.
