Sharon Jaramillo

Sharon is a PhD student at Kent State University. She completed her BS in Psychology at SUNY Brockport, where she developed an interest in cognitive processes involved in learning and decision-making. Her research focuses on math cognition, math anxiety, and how students monitor and regulate their thinking during problem solving. She is particularly interested in applied approaches that support student learning and translate cognitive science findings into real-world educational settings. Sharon is currently working under the mentorship of Dr. Clarissa Thompson, where she is involved in research examining cognitive and emotional factors that influence performance in mathematics. 
In her spare time, Sharon enjoys playing guitar, CrossFit, reformer pilates, and hiking.
