Ivan is a law student at UNC with a background in neuroscience. He completed his master’s degree at Johns Hopkins University, where he studied cognitive neuroscience, later working at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine contributing to research on neurodegenerative diseases impacting language. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology and neuroscience from the University of Oklahoma, during which he worked on research examining the neurological underpinnings of memory, as well as carried out computational modeling for the Human Connectome Project. He has also held research positions with the Harvard Medical School Center for Bioethics and the FAA Civil Aerospace Medical Institute. His interests include neurolinguistics, cognitive disorders, the relationship between language and thought, as well as the growing intersection between neuroscience and law.
